You will be staying in Santa Teresa, Rio de Janeiro. Santa Teresa is a unique place. With its cobbled streets, colonial mansions and the old fashioned ‘Bonde’ tram, it appears to have stopped in time. It has a fantastic mix of architecture and lots of lush vegetation. It is less segregated, with rich and poor living in closer proximity and more harmoniously than other areas of Rio. It is a designated sustainable tourism area, with care taken that development does not infringe on its natural and historical beauties.
Our accommodation is in a combination of boutique guesthouses and family homes. All the homestay options are in beautiful, well maintained Santa Teresa houses, as full of character as their owners! They give a fascinating insight into Brazilian life and allow you to feel comfortable and ‘at home’ during your stay.
Our guesthouse accommodation is also welcoming and excellently run, with leafy, relaxing communal areas, fantastic breakfasts, wireless internet and lovely rooms.
We offer two accommodation options, at different prices: standard and upmarket. Our standard option is based on twin or double rooms with a private bathroom. For more privacy, choose upmarket - a double room for one with ensuite bathroom. If on a budget, we do have a limited number of cheaper rooms which are two sharing with a shared bathroom or a larger shared room (8-10 sharing in single bed accommodation with two ensuite bathrooms). |
